Saxo Bank-SunGard's Richie Porte showed great form on today's 20 kilometer long and hilly time trial in Tour de Romandie. The young Aussie talent finished second – only 1½ seconds behind specialist, David Zabriskie (Garmin Cervelo).

A result that generates joy and only a little bit of disappointment:

“Being SO close winning is naturally not the greatest feeling and I have been doing the course in my head several times since I crossed the finish line in order to find that 1½ seconds needed. But I know, I gave it all I had at the time and it's no shame finishing second a guy like David (Zabriskie). The result actually motivates me even more in terms of being ready for the Giro next week. It's an honor being able to support Alberto (Contador) and I'm looking forward to being there for him during the tour around Italy," said Saxo Bank-SunGard's Richie Porte.

Cadel Evans took the overall lead of the race before tomorrow's final stage.
