yeah, i was on the mailing list b4 the stuff was available. imagine my disappointment when the stuff came out and i saw the prices!!! it's a great design and i'd love to have one but like you said it's redonkously expensive, and for a us continental team!!!! he (Ball) would have been smart to sell the stuff for half that amount just to get the name out there even more, unless he thinks that only rich yuppies should be wearing it while riding their $10,000 machines. if thats the case then Ball can suck my hairy a$$!!!!!

I guess Ball wants his gear to be the "designer" cycling clothes. The problem is that with the price, and the fact that a lot of people hate his team, I doubt he will sell many items

Don't forget that the guy behind all of this has made his living, a very nice one at that, selling $90 t-shirts and $400 jeans. I'm certainly not going to buy one and haven't purchased a jersey in years but there will be plenty of people that buy these. More power to them. If they show up in the Long's Cycle bargain bin in 10 years maybe I'll grab one too.

Side note, I haven't read the fatcyclist.com blog before but is he always so off in his wit and sarcasm? So close, yet so far away.

The Rock jeans are about 10 times the cost of the Old Navy jeans.....I guess I'm not metro enough to see the difference
You can't see it only because the price tags are removed.

$400 jeans?? And yet Steve and Barry's is going out of business because they sold $20 jeans. Sheesh

Like the Rock Racing logo, but again, not that much.

I just can't f---ing believe someone would buy that stuff. It looks fine, but the price is absurd....some people just have too much money or something....

I've got some Rock jeans now and can say that they actually do feel different/ better than any other jeans I've got. There's a bit of lycra in them so they flex like no other jeans I've owned. Worth the 3 bills I paid? That'll be determined in 5yrs if/ when I'm still wearing them.

Do people wear out a lot of jerseys? Bibs I can understand.

I like fashion and I am can spend 160 on a pair of jeans but when I ride my bike I leave the fashion at home and ride the good old stuff I have from the 90s to older the better.

I have toasted the zippers on some older full zip jerseys. I have also had the pockets tear. Should I just fix the pockets??? Maybe, but some of my pro deals say to just get new stuff and smile. btw - I am a whore. :busted:

I'm not defending $400 jeans, or any of that stuff. But I will say that the construction/quality of more expensive jeans is much, much higher than on Old Navy, etc stuff. I usually buy my stuff at Nordstrom Rack, Off 5th, etc, where you can find the Diesel, Seven, Rock, etc jeans for pretty cheap. Still more than Old Navy, but the fit and finish is so much better that it's worth it. To me. I'm totally fine with people being happy in their Old Navy stuff, no sweat off my back.
But think of it as comparing Dura Ace to Sora. Both get the job done, one does it in a much nicer way.
Those are my thoughts anyway.
