Howdy. I'm looking into a new frame/fork and was wondering if anyone has anytime on a revelation.

I've been on nothing but fox since 02 and the first float. I'm going to a longer travel frame (yeti 575) and want a fork w/ adjustable travel. The talas is perfect, but its damn expensive and I'm no longer a shop junkie w/a hook-up. This leads me to the revelation. I've got some hommies who've recently switched from floats to rebas and are loving their respective decisions, and these two run similar platforms. Is there anyone out there in internet land who can give me 2cents on this fork???

Thanks.

I believe that essentially it's a Pike with QR dropouts. I've never had any ride time on one, but that's about the jist of it.

If it's as smooth as a Pike air, it'll be far plusher than a TALAS.

I have ridden one, and it just like the Pike Air that I own except its QR and a lighter fork. As far as internals, it feels just like the Pike Air.
I really like the feel of these forks. I did however just ride the 07 Talas 32 and it feels ridiculously smooth, and way better than the older ones, and the new chassis is nice too.
But if the price is that far off, the Revelation is nice.

i like my revelation. the adjustability is nice. cant compare it to a fox though since ive never ridden one. Youll probably be pretty happy with it. ive been beating on mine since spring time with no problems.

I have had the 06 dual air U-turn now for year. The fork is great!!! Like Jeremy said it is just like the Pike without the 20mm axle. The fork is around 3.8 lbs and can handle anything you can throw at it on a All Mountain bike. I will be selling mine soon though for the new Fox 32. If you want to buy a used one let me know. Good luck.

I love em'. And I have a pair of Talas RLC 2004 on my Superlight. I can't really say there's a lot of difference

I ride a TALAS RLC on my other bike and love them too. But for the cost difference the Revelation is a bargain. Very adjustable, mine weigh in at 4.0 lbs.

I could have sworn that the pike was beefier in the arch and around the crown...:hmm: Then the next time I was in wanting to compare the two, they didnt have a Pike - the shop dude who typically knows whats up said the revelation was somewhere between the Reba and the Pike. I dunno..I could be on crack, though. Does adding a 20mill axle typically add almost a pound?

I thought that was what the Recon was? The RS line gets a little redundant right there....

Edit:
It may be Pike uppers with Reba lowers or something fierce like that.

The Recon is the replacement for the Duke I think, below the Reba.

Thanks for the insight. After looking at the prices, the talas and revelation arn't that far off. Errr, decisions.

Plus, now my frame choices are up in the air too. I haven't looked for a new xc/all mtn/whatever term in years and there are so many damn choices. I've got my numbers down, but its finding a frame in there that isn't over $2k thats hard. (around18" st, roughly 23.5"tt, 68.5-69.5 ha, lowish bb,4.5-5.5 " travel, frame only.)

I guess its off to go flip some coins. Thanks fellas.

I'm wondering if any of you revelation owners has had a chance to really beat on the fork. I'm thinking about getting one for my STP which gets used for everything I ride except dh. The Pike is my second choice, but its kinda expensive and on this bike I'd frankly prefer 85-130 over 95-140.

Can it hold up to street/jumping/allmountain/ds riding or am I asking to much of the chassis?

I have one on my xc bike and honestly, it would worry me for street and jumping. Allmountain and dualslalom I can see, but the fork just feels a little too for lack of a better word, cheap.

The construction of the fork is fantastic, and it works phenomenally, but it from my riding (hard xc) it just doesn't seem formidable enough to hold up to serious street and dirt jumping.
