I have Selle Italia SLR Kit Carbonio with the Lorica covering and I'm wondering how I'm supposed to care for it? It has started to get white spots and dry out, what should I use on it? I've only been using the saddle for 8 months, but its been through the hell of cross season.

Is it the Lorica, or real leather one?
I suppose you could rub some leather care stuff on it, Lorica is very similar. I'm not sure what you mean by "white spots," is it a black saddle? If yes, then you're just wearing through, I don't know what you could do at that point. It's not like it's not getting a ton of dirt and mud thrown at it on your CX bike.

I think this answers your question though:
"but its been through the hell of cross season."

If you mail it to me I will look after it for you ;)

you just need some saddle polish clean it up. If you have starting wearing through the cover then well its only a matter of time before you start getting some holes

Yeah, I must be wearing through. I've tried armoral and leather conditioner. Nothing seems to help :( I guess if I wear through the cover I can make my own cover out of my leopard print tights :D

It's fairly easy to reupholster a saddle actually, especially the SLR, and you can get any color you want.

My coworker has a standard SLR, and it's worn completely through on the sides, he's now wearing down the plastic. He must have thighs of steel, or sandpaper, or something...

The saddle is finally ready for a new cover. It made it through one more season of cross, but is starting to wear through the cover. Anyone ever refinished their saddle? I need a good waterproof fabric, any recommendations? Any web resources for this adventure?
