So I loved this Saison Du Buff and I was thinking about it, and I don't believe I've ever had a Saison/Farmhouse ale before. So I'm trying to figure out if I really like this one Saison, or if I really like this style of beer and just didn't know it.

Suggestions?

One of my favorite styles!

Ommegang Hennepin
Smuttynose Farmhouse Ale (seasonal)
Allagash Fluxus
Saison DuPont
Victory Helios
Pretty Things Jack D'Or
Heavy Seas Red Sky at Night

The Hennepin and Saison DuPont are widely available and are great examples of the style. The Smuttynose and Pretty Things will probably be hard to come by in your neck of the woods.

Picked up:

Ommegang Hennepin
Heavy Seas Red Sky at Night
Great Divide Collette

They were temporarily out of the Smuttynose and had none of the other recommendations so we'll give these three a whirl, then the Smuttynose when it comes back in stock :thumb:

Good job! :)

I thought the Collette was "ok" but worth the $9 for the sixer.

I think the Smutty is out of season. If it's not in stock, you'll be waiting until next year for it. It dries up quick.

Great Divide Collette was meh, Hennepin was good, Red Sky at Night was decent.

I still think the Saison du Buff is substantially better than all three. But I liked the Hennepin.

Find the Dupont. Many consider it to be the pinnacle of the style. Southhampton does a decent one and Iron Hill's can be very nice, but a bit inconsistent.
