Wife and I had just finished our fine dining at the Round Table dinner buffet, when we noticed black smoke coming for the side area of the local grocery. Decided to rubber-neck and walk over, only to find the apartments next to the grocery were on fire. Spread quickly, first responders arrive, and damage limited to 6 apartments. Community already taking action with donations to help those that lost their homes.
We get back to car, and as we are driving away, notice a dog running along Highway 395. We pull over, and get out to help others that were trying to catch the dog. He turns around to run back to fire area, then crosses over to go to local park. When traffic clears, we also turn around, find him in the park, and see several others still trying to catch him. After several minutes, he is caught, and since we have our van, load him up, and take him to local sheriff's department (dog shelter was closed by now, we couldn't keep him due to our other dogs, and dispatch said sheriff's would be best).
At least he was safe when we left him, and told sheriff would call shelter to come get him in morning. Hopefully, he will be reunited with his humans.......
