Finally scored a decent wheelset for my walmart road bike (schwinn varsity). Most of the wally world parts are gone. Control parts are tiagra, cranks are FSA Gossamer's. Happy to get rid of my joytech/alex wheelset :weee:.

Scored a Mavic CXP22 wheelset for $100 on CL recently and I was wondering what kind of hubs are installed. All they say is Giant. The guy I bought it from said they were new bike takeoffs from a 2009 Giant TCR-1. Any idea what brand those hubs may be?

From reviews, they seem to be decent entry level hoops, no eyelets, and painted spokes laced 0x; but I wasn't able to find any info on the those OEM giant hubs. TIA. Pics to come tonight.

Giant had the wheels built, CXP22s came come with any hub really. Most likely they are Joytech hubs, built either to Giant's specs, or more likely just branded Giant, and assembled.
Not bad hubs though, honestly, and Mavic rims are good.

Yea, the hubs roll super smooth, perfectly true, and they look great so I'm pretty satisfied, and for $100 I ain't complainin. Gonna open them up tonight to see if they're servicable or not. The guy said that they were sealed bearings. I'm just happy I can finally run a 9spd shimano cassette. That joytech 7spd was horrible.
