In the bathroom, fighting a battle
Retired my old Shimano shm220s today, bought some m162s to replace them as that was the only thing the shop had in-stock. Put the cleats on and I can't clip into either my Candys of Mallets. egg beaters work just fine, but on the other pedals it seems like the cleat is too deep in the sole and the tread to the side is preventing me from clipping in. I could shave the rubber, but before I take a grinder to a brand new $140 pair of shoes, are there any other options I should consider? A different cleat maybe?

So many things I could say...

Anyways, it's a fairly common problem with CB pedals and usually requires a "shim" to space the cleat out a little further from the shoe. I can't recall if there are longer bolts and a shim within the CB cleat package, but I know this is available somewhere. I've had longer bolts in my toolbox from CB pedals (vs standard ones) and the shims as well.
