Street/Park riding and tire pressure

What tire pressure are you guys riding? Logic tells me to keep the tire really hard to decrease friction on the road, but when I look at videos and pics, the tires look pretty soft, particularly when doing stalls and stuff.

Please advise,

hard enough to not get pinch flats. I probably have 40 psi in mine right now, but that's just a guess. I also have an insanely heavy rear tube.

Yeah, Just hard enough not to pinch flat. It depends on how much you weigh. I dont know what that is for me in psi, but I know the feel of it when I pump up the tyre. I'd guess it's about 40ish... Too hard tyres make the bike overly harsh. Really hard is nice for wooden mini ramp though...

I run pretty light tubes (24 x 1.5) and tyres (DMR Motos 24 x 2.2), and rarely get a flat.

I find using a lot of talc inside the tyre and on the tube makes the whole deal feel a lot nicer too.

Talc? No ****? I'll try that. So it seems 40ish is the average. I'm 170lbs... pretty average for 5-9, so I'll give it a shot.

I weigh about 130 and run 55psi rear and 50psi front. 40 makes the bike feel all wallow-y when cornering and ride like poo poo. Too slow on trails and too soft for street.

I run mine pretty high generally. If I was running just street I would have mine at 60psi or so, maybe more. I'm big though. I weigh ~235 so pinch flats are my natural enemy.:mumble:

It seems to lower rolling resistance slightly and just makes the the tyres more... feelable... It lets the tube move around inside the tyre when they deform so I guess it might help with pinch flats a teeny bit too.

I've used talc on my road tubes and it made a world of difference. Too lazy to use it on my MTB tubes, I'll try it though.

wow, either my gauge is jacked or I'm doing something wrong. I usually pump my holy rollers to 35psi. 60 sounds crazy hard to me. Time to break out the car tire gauge.

I used a shock pump to measure my 'by feel' tyres - Front was 46psi, rear was 57. They're 2.2s on 25mm~ish rims.
