So I am thinking about moving out west very soon. I have been looking at Las Cruces, or in that general area. I am a bike shop mechanic with 12 years of experience, so mtn biking has to be big there (DH) as well as shops (potential jobs) Let me know what you guys think about the area or if there is anywhere else you would suggest.

As NM towns go, it's a good'un. But the bike scene there is very XC-ish, and not much DH to speak of, although I think there may be some Freeride stuff closer to ElPaso. Hit up LC-Dave on MTBR.com for the complete scoop, including shop employment prospects.

Las Cruces has a budding DH FR scene. Alot of the members of the El Paso Roughriders live here and are working to get new trails and areas built. Check out the website at www.roughriderracing.org
