Two days ago, heading out on the Susitna 100 race. -10°F start, -10°F finish, although it did get into the teens or so during the day. Was crystal clear and the views were amazing all day long.

The sunset was amazing:

Rolled in way later than I wanted, but still beat my personal goal of before midnight. Someone placed some course markers on the opposite side of an intersection and several of us went the wrong way for a bunch of miles. Eventually we ran into more wrong-way racers and figured it out. This burned up some time and put us way behind. Also, for some reason it took way too long to get to the last checkpoint, to the point where our little group was wondering if we should set up camp, but again we eventually figured it out. Hitting the last checkpoint was nice though, after that we flew in on the last 10 miles at a pace that had me boiling at the finish (while it was -10). Figured it was better to just leave the stuff on and get it done rather than change layers again.

Still my favorite thread. Good work! I really appreciate that very little shenanigans has occurred here. Don't get any ideas or I will Jim Ban your ass....

from mah cottage trip this weekend:

A little video (warning, ear-worm music attached)
I'm in the green helmet & orange bag (& on the ground a lot... a heavy bag sure shifts your centre of gravity around a lot :/ ). There's some pretty neat (imho) drone footage towards the end. The plan had been to set it to auto-follow, but it was too windy, so it needed to be manually flown.

First decent ride in something near two weeks.

...and a bunch of crap snow forecast for tomorrow means the fatty wheels will be back in play.

Crappy pic and I didn't take any later on as I felt it would be intrusive.
Didn't really do much riding myself, but my last ride was yesterday on International women's day.
Like last year, I took a bunch of my rental bikes plus some borrowed bikes from the school over the road and helped teach 80+ refugee women how to ride a bike.
Their faces as they learned to joy and freedom of bikes was just so awesome!
