Apparently, he left his glasses at home that day. When his gun totin' buddies called him up the night before to make plans, he thought they said they were going to hunt "Dan Quayle". He didn't want to look like a blind fool so he shot the first damn person he saw running out in the field. Well, he still looks like a damn fool.
