They Rock!

When I bought my Stinky Deelux I had the LBS swap the hayes out for the Avids. I have Avids on all my Mtn Bikes and they are simply the best disc brakes going. Hydraulaics are great but they have a "status" rating more then any additional function. I rode Hayes Hydro's on my GF Sugar3 and they were nice. But had zero performance advantage over the AVids and much more complexity and cost. There was a time when the Hydros were the ticket but today the Avids are the best Disk brakes going, and they are cheap and the easiest by a margin to install and maintain. I have 8" rotor on the front and a 6" rotor on the rear and they work perfectly!

I would highly suggest a set of Avid speed dial levers with the Avid Brakes. It'not mandatory for proper function but those are very sdjustable levers which make the modulation great.
