In no particular order.

Bike rides: Finally got out again after the birth of little Ava, buddy came down from NH and we spent a couple of hours getting reacquainted with pain.

Garmins: Turn-by-turn directions makes riding in a new area fun and easy. Create your own rides and drop them into the computer, wow!

Campy 11: Super Record is amazing, the hoods were designed expressly for me it seems. I think I'm giving up my Di2 plans to add more 11spd to the stable.

My Colnago C50: Rock solid at any speed, light enough for my fat ass to drag it up climbs, descends on rails, and looks like a million bucks in between.

Pearl Izumi P.R.O. bibs: Like sitting on god's lap...

Friends to ride with: Makes a couple of hours on the bike much, much more enjoyable, thanks Jim!

NORCAL is the hizzle
A girlfriend who understands that riding means a lot to you so even though you were willing to take a rare weekend off from riding to spend more time with her, she insists you do a 70 mile point-to-point ride and picks you up far north of the city before you both take off for a long weekend of wine tasting (i.e., drinking), eating, and chilling on the Mendocino coast.

The last two weeks of work have ruled. I moved the shop 20 miles up the river so now I finally have a bike commute that's longer than 10 minutes.

A minimum 40 miles of commuting most days with 25 miles of 20% gravel climbs and 45mph dirt descents on the way in. That's awesome, and that's why I live in Western Massachusetts. Days like today when I bounced out of the shop by 4 mean it's possible to get in a five and a half solid hours of world-class road riding with 6 hours of hard work in the middle and still have time to read the paper in the morning and make dinner at night.
I may still be broke as hell, but at least I managed to htfu and get back out on the bike a minimum of 12 hours a weeks again. It's been far tooo long.

Solid, reliable technology rules. I have a carbon road bike, commuter, DH bike and XC FS and I end up riding my ~10 year old hardtail the most. 8 speed XT/XTR, CK hubs and headset, v-brakes....love that bike, feel the most comfortable on it and nothing ever breaks.

One thing that does NOT rule is road riding where I live now (SoCal 'burbs) compared to where I used to live a few months ago (New Haven, CT). About 80% of my riding used to be on the road...now it's more like 5%.

Getting my bike finally set up how I want it, and owning a bike made by a guy that posts in threads like this.

Craft bibs.

Cinelli cork tape + proper round handlebars.

Going on a group ride early tomorrow, and not going out while all my housemates and friends are drinking.

Cross! 'Cause no matter how much I have deep down love for all things mtb, every fall, the cross wave sweeps me and drops me on line ready to race and suffer for an hour, having fun no matter if I'm at the back of the pack or gunning for a top 10.

Could not resist sticking those here, 'cause there a major stokage for me!! AKA 4x/DS alloy/TI racing hardtails (hopefully a production Spooky soon!)
