Timing systems options?

Freelap is a workable option, not to costly but somewhat bad avaiability. Can be frustrating if the watch passes outside the finish zone, so not fool proof but overall a nice way to spice up your riding.

Somewhere around 240£ total on crc when i bought my stuff.

Oh was it for events? Yes freelap is only good for personal/small party of friends mucking about. For events i have never really been involved with organizing/running it and i suspect a proper well functining system will be expesive to acquire. I guess best option is if you have a local skiracing club, they maybe have a system they could lend

I think i recall that at my skiing academy we had a system that would cope with around 30 individual times, had a gated start, laser finish and was portable. Kind of a hassel to run and set up but cost maybe around 2-3k€, which i suspect is cheap compared to a system that can handle a proper event
