Chris Horner solos for the win in Stage 6. It was a tough mountain stage. I'd think that'll get Horner onto the Tour team for Saunier Duval.

He's a total tool but has worked hard and deserves the success. I hope that he is rewarded with a Tour trip. It does point that the US domestic road racing scene is not to be taken lightly.

I think Chris could be a major player at the Tour. He won't be able to beat Lance, but I'm sure he can podium in the next few years.
I'm not so sure I'd go that far. I could see Horner knocking out a stage win or two but a podium in a three week race. I'm not sure he's ever done a race longer than a week. Plus right now he is the same age as Lance. I do think that he still has more than a couple of years of good classics, short tours and stages that he could take down.

It's too bad Horner didn't get in with a team worked out for him the first time he did the euro-circuit. It would be interesting to see how he would have fared up to this point.
The domestic scene is definitely going well for sure. I don't think Lance's retirement equates to the end of it either. There's still an amazing amount of riders making waves overseas. Between them and Lance, they will have inspired a whole new generation of mashers that will hopefully carry the torch.

It's official: Chris Horner will be going to the Tour de France.

Horner's stage-winning ride in Thursday's climbing stage at the Tour de Suisse assured the popular American rider of a spot on the nine-man Saunier Duval-Prodir team for July's big dance.

"Yes, Chris will be going to the Tour. It was looking good already, but his victory makes the decision final," Saunier Duval sport director Joxean "Matxin" Fernández told VeloNews.

Good for him! I was really hoping he'd have a good season in his 2nd chance at the Euro circuit. Another American hope to pull for in this year's tour!
Man, it's coming up SOON!

Awesome! I was reading his interview on cyclingnews.com and he was REALLY itching to give'r in the Tour. I wouldn't expect a high GC result from him, but could easily see him pulling off a stage win at some point.
