Okay, this is pertinent to a limited number of us, but it's the real deal: Adams Trail a Bike has discovered that some of their hitch hinges are either assembled wrong or just defective in design, and the design has been used for several years. If you've got a Trail-a-Bike, it's a safe bet it's recalled. Here's the link: Adam's Site with Recall Info and Photos
Basically, the bolts they use on the u-joint that attaches to the seatpost are designed to end "flush" with the end of the locknut. They say two of these came off, which I imagine resulted in a nasty stack for the kid-rider. Their fix is to replace the bolt with a longer one, leaving 3-5 threads exposed for better grip/security with the nylock nut they use.
I checked mine, and the nut is secure, but I'm asking them to send me the new bolt. We'll see if they're down with that.
