Hi all,
Pls excuse my ignorance, but how different are 20" trials bikes from 20" BMX's?
And are BMX's convertible to trials?

the chainstays(rear end) is usually fairly short. gear ratio is way lower(half crank rotation for one wheelbase) and the top tube is usually much longer. oh, and they're about half the weight... and much cooler... but trials bikes dont' always have 20" wheels, the ones with 20" wheels are called mod trials bikes(modified). they started out by taking bikes such as old schwinn style bikes and changing them enough so they could hop around... they modified them, if you will. you can also trials with 26" wheels(stock).

hope that gives you more info.

That is definitely a trials bike. No seat, 18 inch rear wheek rather than 20, long stem, small gearing and a bash plate.

Yup, they do a lot of frames and comeplete bikes.

Mods use a 19" rear wheel, have wheel bases around 1000-1045ish. Their easier to maintain on the rear due to short chainstays, but have a harder time gapping/upping due to short lenght/less leverage.
