“Early on we were both trying to get a gap, and I saw Plaxton coming across making Craig bring him up, so it worked out perfect for us today. Its nice to have a strong teammate on the course especially like this. It was definitely a benefit to be with somebody on the track because their was quite a bit of drafting with the wind. It feels good, it is my first win this year and I’ve never won the Sea Otter Cross Country. I’ve been coming here for about 15 years so I’m glad to finally get a win!

Both Todd and Max raced their S-Works Stumpjumper 29er Hardtails to take the podium. This is the third year in a row that Specialized has won the Sea Otter Cross Country, starting with Christoph Sauser in 2009.
