So I just picked up a Specialized Hardrock 29er to get into mountain biking again and have run into a little snag. The bike I bought had a stripped stem and had to be replaced and while I had it apart I didn't realize the parts of the headset were loose and should have been handled with a little more care. Anyway, after watching some videos online of how to take it apart correctly and rebuild it, I think I want to take the bearings out now and clean them and re-lubricate them.
What do you guys prefer to lube these, regular Lithium Grease?
Should I just head to my LBS and get their recommendation and buy from them?
