So building up a new DH race rig, going to stick with Sram stuff for sure, but just wanting to know the advantages of going with X0 over X9.

I run a 11-23 for the most part so I am thinking short cage instead of mid.

I havent ever used x0, but have used x9 for a few seasons and love it, but I have the extra cash, but trying to decide if I should use it there or upgrade some other parts.

Thanks for the help.

X.0 shifters are availible in 9 speed only, X.9 come in both 8 and 9. You also save 15 grams of weight by going with X.0. In theory, X.0 shifters provide a smoother upshift as well, they have two extra washers not found in the X.9's as part of the paddle's assembly. I don't know if I'd say it makes a huge difference, but for comparison sake, it is a difference. And finally the X.0's paddle clamps to the shifter whereas the X.9's paddle bolts to it.

Either shifter is great, but with the X.0 you just get a little more of that "bling" factor for your bike.
