Anybody know what weight the stock oil is in the Fox Vanilla? It's time to change my oil and I have some Maxima 5 wt, was wondering if that is close?

7.5. Won't make a noticable difference for lubrication purposes but the damper will be a less damped. I don't know if it will make a noticable difference there. Its an easy job though, so you could try it and see if its different.

My oil was Silkolene, not Maxima as I posted first. It was 5 wt and I think you are right oldfart, this 5 wt seems just a little thinner than what I used last time and my lockout does not lockout quite as solid as before. It works great otherwise, man this thing was due for a change!! LOTS of crud was in there and it's only had maybe 6 months of use since I changed it last.
