not trying to piss on anyone's parade at all. that VP Free is beautiful, hell almost all high end bikes like that are very worthy of praise. I was just stating that my local small town shop has one sitting there, even thoough they seem to be hard to get. Maybe that is why they are hard to get? because a bunch of small local shops have full retail price + 10% bikes collecting dust in their windows. I am very happy with the bike I have, I do not see what is wrong with that....

I think it's more of the shops trying to get them can't and some of the shops that have them have little or no market for them. I think SC uses a market share quota type thing too based on the number of frames sold last year and where you land on the list for next years models. I know my lbs has had 4 or 5 VP Free's on order for a while with no results yet.
