Which fork would be best to get for new person to biking not much knowledge on servicing but looking for best for money for a general trail/xc and light freeride/dh fork for a trek 6700 and a 145lb rider.

I am looking at the following Marzocchi forks
2001 Z-3
2002 MXR 2003 MX Comp w/ ETA

I don't have disc brakes yet but if i get the mx comp i will upgrade to discs then fork after.

Which will hold up the best? to this kinda riding?
and money is tight since im 17.

Thanks

Any would be fine for trail riding, but go for the cheaper one; all Marzocchi forks last.

If your riding style changes, you'll probably end up wanting to save money for a different style of bike, rather than changing from fork to fork.

All those forks are pretty similar. I would probably say you should go with one of the newer ones, because it will be easier to find replacement parts for them. The parts would probably be cheaper too.

Livin it up in the O.C.
I'd go for the 2002 MXR

It has more adjustment, and the lack of "air" will make it more durable

Plus, the price aint bad. :D
and it is lighter than the Z-3
