Watchin' you. Writing it all down.
With the elimination of the two main reasons for the presence of US troops and forces in Saudi Arabia gone (enforcement of the no fly zones and forward deployments to offset Iraqi offensive movement), it could be reasoned the US troops and forces are not long for continued deployment in Saudi Arabia.

With the brand new Central Command headquarters in Qatar, relatively quiet use of facilities in Kuwait and an assured heavy military presence in Iraq for a few years to come, the presence of troops and equipment in Saudi Arabia becomes redundant. Just this past Saturday the last of the Air Force planes in Incirlik, Turkey charged with enforcing the northern no-fly zone came home to Shaw Air Force Base. Does this mean that the military also packs its wagons in Saudi Arabia and goes elsewhere?

Since the main bug (if not only bug) up Osama's butt was the presence of US troops in Saudi Arabia does he become happy? Or does he have to find a new cause? Even the Palestinians have been very careful to, for the most part, distance themselves from him. Or even in a more ironic possibility does the presence of US troops in Iraq become his new calling?

A lot of USAF assetts were moved to Quatar when the Saudi's refused to let the Air Force fly missions against Afganistan.

The USAF draw down at PSAB continues...
