whats the deal with windrock in the winter? do you guys ride year round.... or does temp and weather put a stop to it. ill be itching to test out my new arms in a few months.

Mostly year around, except in the winter when it gets really rainy and the freeze/thaw cycle makes the mountain take FOREVER to dry out!
Last year I guess there were 4 or 5 weekends that I knew of when Joey asked people not to come up and ride. Those weekends the trail was so wet that it would be ruined by riding on it, I imagine the trail was so wet those days it wouldn't have been much fun anyway.

Windrock is open 7 days a week. However due to the windmill consruction the shuttle road has only been open Saturday and Sunday. All that should be over soon. They have been saying mid October, but we'll see.
Windrock is completely off the hook. For those of you who have not been there the mountain may be open all week, but I would not suggest you go it alone. Joey and Ben need to show you around, and you need someone to be there in case some poop happens.
incidentally, I-40 from Asheville TO Knoxville is open...but it's 1 lane in both directions. Plan accordingly. :mumble: :mumble:Mtb_Rob_FL said:
