I'm swapping cables for a friend and just came across the new shifter/cable interface from SRAM. (see below)

In trying to get the cover off, I accidentally popped the back off and can't get the spring re-wound. Has anyone pulled this off and been able to fix? I really don't feel like buying him a new shifter...

The same thing happened to me last week...I brought it to my sponsor shop, and Chris found a tutorial ride here on Ridemonkey:

Essentially, he followed the directions backwards to reassemble the shifter.

Unlikely. The only reason I am asking for help is because for the first time since I switched to SRAM/Avid in 2002, I am in need of deep servicing. I would have had to buy the shimano group 5 times over by now.
