Is lowering a Pike still a headache requiring swapping of air shafts, damper parts, voodoo etc?
Or, has someone found a way to achieve let's say a 120mm travel version doing something simple like spacers?

Let me know. Thanks!

You can't just space them out due to the equalisation dimple on the inside of the stanchion which obviously can't move around to allow for spacers. This is why you have to switch out air shafts.

Is it as simple as it seems?
I found the 120 air shaft online. Any other parts required?
Super easy, lemme know if you need a hand.

I've got a brand new 150mm 27.5 version if it's any use to what you're attempting.

Very easy to do yes, the part you get should include a new air piston, quad ring and top out bumper. You'll want a set of decent snap-ring pliers to get the air seal head in and out of the stanchion and some slickoleum or similar to grease everything up but it's as easy the SRAM service manual makes it look.
