Just curious - I've got a set of XT cranks - hollowtechs 751s - they are missing the inserts to "bolt" them onto the splined hollowtech bb - I need shimano specific ones correct? I can't just use some standard crank bolts can I? These are the older pre-2003 XT Hollowtechs.

Please advise.

Thanks.

They're just standard crank bolts, the same diameter as ISIS as far as I know. I'm almost certain the crank bolts I've got on my ISIS FSA cranks right now are the ones off my old XT cranks.

Use any crank bolts you have lying around. If the thread diameter is the same, you're golden.

If you don't have any kicking around, I think I have like 3 or 4 sets at home. I'll check and PM you later.

I don't think I have any extra other than ones from an old square taper set of XTs, but those are different I think since you need to use a wrench to tigthen those rather than a hex tool.
