if it's the m8000, I believe you need the SGS.
This is the one in stock at QBP:
Shimano XT RD-M786-GS 10-Speed Medium Cage Shadow Plus Rear Derailleur Black
i can't access QBP, but that's the GS and from what google says the max cassette range is a 39T cassette.
So, let me rephrase the question...what is the ideal derailleur for the 11-46? (SLX is out of stock..)Looks like m8000...
Holy shit, Jenson is $10.00 less than QBP
You want the long cage.
Shimano hates the IBD
If i can..
For your trasmition system, GS cage is correct, with 11/46 also, provided you have a single front chainring
The medium cage have 39T (RD-8000 system) of capacity, and your crank is single 32-32=0 46-11=35T perfect with medium cage.
Both medium and long cages work with 11-46 single ring. Long cage is required for 2x set ups. I think
Yes for single, is not required , but is required for double cahinrings
I'd stay away from the older 10sp XT RDs because of the location of the cage pivot that makes them suboptimal for big range cassettes. You can get a RADr cage for $50 to fix that, or the m8000 that offset the pivot like the RADr cage or like SRAM RDs.
That's the chain wrap capacity (i.e. the difference between the min and max number of total teeth between the front and rear) not the max sprocket size.
I have no id.
Do you have ego?
