'02 Titus Switchblade
5.7" rear travel
5" front with '02 psylo sl, sometimes a manitou black super air at 120mm
26-29lbs, depending on which wheelset, fork and tires I am running

I get 45mm shock travel on average with the fox float, or 135mm total travel, of a claimed 50mm, but I can only get a max of 49 when the shock is deflated and the most I ever got was 47mm with proper sag.

All this will change when I get the manitou swinger upgrade in a month. I'll probably lose some weight with that shock, but gain it right back and more when I put a new fork on. I was ready to buy an '03 sherman firefly, but the '04s will have SPV, and be available in a few months anyway, so I may as well wait. The new Minute forks look interesting, but no thru-axle means I won't be buying one.

I also have an '01 Jamis Dakar expert, '02 GF Paragon, '96 nishiki pinnacle (my 1st real mtn bike), and some other frames and partially built bikes.

25.2 lbs with avid disks....that was before I added barends @ 120g. don't know what I need to do to get it lighter, its a 16 " frame, headshok is under 3 lbs, XT, 317's with mosquito's (485g)....I know the disks are heavy, but they WORK like nothing else.....

anyway its 8.5 lbs lighter than my previous bike !

Giant VT-2 fresh outta the LBS was weighing a hefty 34, but i've since replaced the front tire (weirwolf 2.4 wire bead) with a lighter tire (Spec. Roller pro 2.3 kevlar bead). Also replaced the thornproof tubes for regular ones. And replaced the titec seatpost that i bent after 5 rides with a thomson. So i'm guesstamating i dropped at least a pound after all that.....
My Bullit only wieghs about 38 pounds it's kinda funny my trail bike is kind of a pig and my play bike is the lightest one in the shuttle truck usually.....
oh travel? 5.75 back air manitou spv
5 front Marzocchi z1 fr sl air
on my trail bike.......

I have two XC bikes:

IF Deluxe hardtail weighing in around 23 lbs and a Yeti Lawwill 6 which is around 38 lbs.

I could probably throw some money at the Yeti and drop a pound or three, but I'd rather save up an invest in a lighter frame and start over. No matter what I do, the Yeti is still a 8.5 lb frame.

custom built 27.2lbs

There have been some changes since my last post. I haven't weighed it in for awhile.

I have never ridden it and enjoyed it at this weight so much before even though I thought that I clocked in a 25lbs or less.

pretty heavy for a XC bike, but it was cheap!
at last a realistic bike weight, so tired o people with 4" full suspension bikes with LX claimming 24 or 25 lbs.

my ht weight a little over 25 and thats a 16" CAAD5 hardtail.

Klein Attitude.... bog standard except for a Specialized bike computer and a water bottle cage (for the quick trips where it ain't worth taking the camelbak).

80mm travel in the front, and the padding on my arse at the back. :D

27 lbs even... making the bike lighter would just seem silly, given how much of me there is to go around!

i assume thats accurate, as i weighed it on a nice tanita digital scale.

...a little sketchy getting to stay on one wheel on there though. i even tested the scale by putting all my weight on one foot to see if i would get a good reading with the bike propped up on the rear wheel on one side.

seems like it worked for me. i see no point on guessing. how do you judge your upgrades otherwise?;)

i will say though that its possible to get a FS under 25#. - my buddy's Giant NRS Air FS is 25 on the nose (weighed it) - with tubeless and discs!

everyone here can stand to shed 5 lbs too - and i guarentee thats a cheaper upgrade than any shiny new lightweight part!;)
