Your fave biking video?

So, my East Coast peeps (bet you'll never hear that actually come out of my mouth!), what are your favorite biking videos?

And do you feel dirty when you watch them? (I do. I feel guilty because I get such a kick out of it. I creep down into the basement like it's a naughty pleasure to watch people ride bikes!)

I think my fave right now is one I mentioned today in another thread: "The Emergence: A North Shore Freeride Documentary."

***

Anyone know where I can find a DVD of "Chainsmoke "? Or "Transcontinental"? Perhaps they are old and aren't on DVD?

...I thought it was pretty dope
cool. thanks for dropping that in here. i'm the one in the interview getting all emotional about how great it is to ride with other women. did you see the little video from the snow race last month, also by raceday productions? that one is fun too. i think there's a link to it on RM somewhere.

hopefully there will be more to come from raceday productions and the pinko's.

gotta throw out a mention of Ride To The Hills - it's a little older but it doesn't "look" old, everything in there is pretty sick.

Earthed is way cool too, I'm on much more of a racing footage kick now than big drops....

I like Kranked 4-5 despite all the cheesy stuff inbetween riding. NWD4 was okay. I have Ride To The Hills as well, it's not bad.

Honestly my favorite biking vids were Bike TV. I miss that show. They would ride in awesome locations, and actual singletrack on occasion. If anyone can recommend a vid with good singletrack riding, please do so.

i still chill out to the laid back styles of No Recess... east coast street repreSENT!

20" vids kill MTBers for content (props series, road fools series), but i've never been impressed with their quality.

what's that new vid "A 16mm Film... " the trailer for that looked pretty insane.

Are you thinking about "The Collective"? I think it's a June release. Can't wait. The trailer for that one gets me pumped up to ride every time. I want to see this one on the largest screen I can find.

How could you fail to mention Berreclothe's section!?!?!?!?

C'mon, I mean a 360 of a 20 foot drop. It doesn't get any better than that. Superheroes 3 looks really sweet based on the trailer.

EDIT: BTW, I seriously hate the Kranked videos. Kranked 5 was pretty good, but that director hasn't a clue what he's doing for the other movies. Kranked 4 had a spelling error, and the riding was for the most part, pretty lame (I do admit that there were some seriously cool parts, but few and far between).

Hopefully my copy of earthed comes in by Friday. Ordered it on Sunday night from Just Push Play. I'm a big fan of the Kranked and Jib videos.

New world disorder and whichever has that guy doing manuals at 60mph, the railroad track balancing act is good too!

Jib get's my vote for WORST VIDEO EVER!!! it would have been 100% if there was a GOOD soundtrack to it

Downy, I stand corrected. I watched it again, and I've changed my mind. Barrecloth's 360 beats all. I also think that Timo Pritzell's section is cool. Does anyone who owns or has seen Ride the Lightning know what song is playing during Timo's section?

Statement is a pretty cool video. Except for the fact that it was made for people with ADD. I swear the opening scene has about a thousand 3 second clips that just bounce around. After about 5 minutes of that, it settles down some.

That's just the intro though. Most mtn bike movies just show everything in the first 5 minutes. But I do agree, it can be choppy if they aren't introducing riders and the clips are short.

But some serious old-school skills are on display in Tread and Retread:

Johnny T riding Durango singletrack.
Paul Turner smoking a downhill on Molokai.
Juli Furtado, Molly Brook, et al goofing off somewhere in Hawaii.
Hans Rey and Greg Herbold riding Moab.
Missy Giove talking, talking, talking, and stacking hard.

As for new school films, I'd have to say NSX 1 through 6 and Kranked 3 and 5 are my favorites.

Watching Dangerous and Wade flow the evolving Shore is a true pleasure.
