Zion National Park/Gooseberry Mesa – Utah Road Trip!
Thursday, May 4, 2006 - Sunday, May 7, 2006

SLICK ROCK RIDING GOOSEBERRY MESA IN SOUTHERN UTAH!!!

We will be camping in Zion’s valley at the Watchman Tent only campground just inside Zion National Park. Gooseberry Mesa is about 30-40 minutes outside Zion with spectacular slick rock mountain biking.* Most of the riding is intermediate/advanced and amazingly fun.* A lot of times we’ll stop in an area and just play on the slickrock trying different things.

All riders are welcome to join us on the road trip.

Beginner/Novice:
The main dirt road that leads out the center of Gooseberry Mesa is a fine novice, beginner, intermediate ride--10 miles out-and-back and flat as a pancake. You might hook up with the other riders at Gooseberry Point.

Intermediate/Advanced:
If you are not an experienced rider, please do not attempt The main trail system has been developed and incorporates technical slickrock and bonafide singletrack. This trail system on Gooseberry can be challenging even for the most advanced riders and requires adept skills to clean the hundreds of audacious stunts. Between the rock expanses, though short, tasty sections of dreamy singletrack weaving through juniper, pinyon, ponderosa, and manzanita. This is real singletrack--soft, loamy, and carpeted with pine needles. Thus, Gooseberry is the best of mountain biking.
