I ran into Von Williams at the thrill zone last night.

He was putting together some good lines in a place that is really pretty tough to ride a big bike in.

Always a nice guy too....

Umm...Shaums was judging right? I'm pretty sure I saw him sitting up on that big ol pile o dirt with the other fellers. I was happier to see a bunch of old pals than I was to see the pros. Spenser, Sam B, Aho, Jake, Eathan, Corey, and so on...I think Brock was the only person I didn't see

highlight of the dirtjump comp was Flippy McNasty in the Am contest and the bmx snakers doing stunts with no helmets

I took a few photos (doubt they'll be anything worthwhile, that place has poo poo lighting for color film...and the icebarn is even worse)

I was there. Lurking and keeping a low profile. I did see you but you were walking away from us and at the other end of the bleachers.

I brought my six rear old son Mac last night and we both had a great time. Aaron Chase is my sons favorite rider(mine too) so we went up to him and I asked him to sign my kids helmet. He said "sure" and he enden up talking and high five'n my son for about 5 minutes as if he knew us. I'm sure Mac will never forget it. Chase is not only a great rider but he also knows how to give back to his fans.
Thanks to GHY for bring all the top pros to town.

If he was, why do you care?

Because it was annoying that he just sat there bitching about guys not doing enough tricks or complaining when they would take a second run.

It'd kinda funny because I actually figured the guy didn't even ride bikes because he had zero appreciation for what was going on or the effort the riders were putting forth.

Now that I know that he was trying impress not one but two chicks, it makes a lot more sense.

I can see where you are coming from. I was actually sitting there with the guy. He's got a bit of a big mouth, but thats the nice part about being in the stands and not competing  .

Tony, Im glad you guys had fun! Chase is a good guy, pretty much all the pros last nite are great people. I meat Aaron last year in Whistler and he came up to me and remebered me, I was impressed. Kirt V. is the same way, both are great represenatives of our sport. We need more of that! Thansk to everyone for coming out. Tonite should be equally great! I cant wait to go ou tafter words and drink!! I had to get up and teach spin class this morning!! :(

Hacksaw is a cool cat too! He was gonna throw a tee-shirt out, and he asked me where to toss it, I told him to send it to this lil kid that had not got anything, hacksaw ran back to his back-pack grabbed a small shirt and tossed it to this lil guy that couldnt compete with the big kids....Thast teh stuff I like to see!

I have total appreciation for what those guys were doing. Infact im gonna enter next years comp. But i was a lil harsh to some because well did they have to do 2 runs? They should have just let the comp progress and do a lil throwdown like they did at the end. The effort put forth by all was impressive and the comp was fun. Ohh and srry for kinda kicking u in the head when u leaned back, wasnt expecting that.

Wow. A kid who can take some criticism without flaming. That’s refreshing. Very cool of you.

I see the multiple run (or rebate) thing like this. The point of the whole deal is to put on a show or entertain “us” while helping our sport’s “progression” (I hate that word. But that’s a whole new topic). Put yourself in say Jesme’s shoes. You just tried to backflip the big jump. You almost had it. You know you’re run is blown but you are psyched, people wanted to see it happen. You wanted to make it. Screw it. You do it again. And one more just because…

Why? To push yourself. And to put on a show.

That’s good you are entering next year. It will show that you can put your money where your mouth is. Nobody likes a **** talker.

Fun comp.
Too bad it ran so late though.
I had to go at 11:00
Pro's hadn't even started.
In fact, maybe make it go a little quicker, earlier, anything...

or watching voreis ride his bike and skateboard
I'd like to hear more about this. Ever since the Evolution vid (one of my all time fav's) Voreis has been one of my favorite riders.

My wife and I just had a conversation in which she asked me if any of the guys that ride park also skateboard. She had commented that I was the only person in my circle of riding friends who skated. I told her that I thought that some do sometimes but I didn't know if any of them take it seriously or are good at it.
