Almost everyone that i know is saying that Queens of the Stone Age is a terrible band & im dumb for liking. I always thought they were a great band, but most people disagree. Am I the only one that likes them? What do you guys think?

They're a great rock band, don't listen to the haters.

Are they even together still? i always wished i saw them before they got all popular, oh well, hopefully more people think they suck and i'll get to see them in a small venue.

you mean thier last 3.... i think their second one R is their best, i mean i really dig Grohls drum contribution on the last one, but R really kicks hard. Which reminds me i haven't listened to that one in a while, gotta dig that one out.

I liked songs for the deaf but I haven't heard any other of their albums.
Ghrol's drumming is phenominal and hes a talented artist all around

but at the same time the whole band are top notch musicians

QOTSA is great!!! Saw them open for the RHCP's last year and they just rocked!! If you dig them, check out Kyuss and anybody else that was involved in the Desert Sessions recordings. "Stoner Rock" at it's finest! :thumb:

i like them.
i also hate when people start pontificating on tastes and art....
like if something as subjetive as art, beuaty and tastes could be rigidly under absolute reference points....

thats like sayign you are dumb cuz you like burritos, and they dont...

maybe your friends should open their ears a little more and expand their musical tastes. or at least what alexis says- be more accepting of someone else's taste. i hate teen radio pop stuff but i dont ever just tell someone right to their face "hey you listen to stupid crap"

but people who like burritos are just stupid- thats science fact right there. ;)

So QOTSA came from the remnants of Kyuss, which was a GREAT band, for sure. But QOTSA we'ren't the only band to rise from the ashes of Kyuss... if ya'll are into the Black-Sabbathy Stoner-Rock thing definitely check out a band called Hermano featuring the singer from Kyuss and the drummer from the Afghan Whigs.

Actually, I ordered a few CD's from Hermano's label Tee Pee Records and I was very impressed. Check it out.

Don't forget Unida ... another great one.

... and if you really just can't get enough, check out Brant Bjork's solo stuff.
We just saw him play the other night. The bar was empty except for us, a couple floozies, and the band members. It turned into Jam night with 20+ minute sessions. Very heavy, very groovy.

still liking songs for the deaf the best of R, songs for the deaf, and lullabies to paralyze. though i only listened to lullabies all the way a couple times so far. been on the lookout for the 2 albums that came before R, that are on the QOTSA website.

I love QOTSA...what else can you say? Josh Homme is a giant ginga ninja on the guitar...and as for the new album it rocks even without Nick....I like em so much my gitlfriend bught me QOTSA plates for my car! But Im sad cos they cancelled their New Zealand show last year....you should check out a band called Che...ex Kyuss drummer and stuff too. And the new album has dirty old ZZ topper Billy F Gibbons playin and singin on it..whoah!

Derek Pearson i want my 3 bucks back, plus interest!!!!@$)!@)$*(#!$) not really

What a great show, they must have played for nearly 2 hrs. The new keyboard player is hot, she was jumping up and down on some songs it was very pleasing to the eye. People were passing out from the heat up front, a nonstop express of superior music. Good times.

Derek is gonna have the awesome shots, but i'm stoked i got a new camera too and took a few pics, none of them turned out worth a damn but here's one that turned out alright.
