Does anyone know where you can get springs heavier than 500# for a swinger? i believe that manitou stops making them at that weight, and you have to use a fox or comparable spring that is the same length x 2.0. Is this a silly rumor, or does manitou actually not make heavier springs?

i'm a MAsshole!!!
i have a 600 spring on my bighit. it's a 8.75x2.75 swinger 4 way. note: the 550 and 600lb springs i got from manitou are about 12mm longer then the stock 450 one. this limists my options for fitting the shockin different holes in the linkage plates, which sucks cause it only fits in the steep 6.8 setting. i have to try to find a shorter or narrower spring to use in the slack 8.1 setting for when i race dh. anybody got any suggestions? i order the spring direct from manitou and the writing on the spring as far as dimensions coincides with that of the shock. anybody know of any spring manufacturuers that make their coils about 3mm narrower then manitou? anybody have experience grinding down the sides of the spring so that they don't hit the inside of the linkage plates?

on a side note about getting springs, i think they only listed up to 550 for my spring in the booklet that came with the shock but when i call up manitou to order the spring, they notified me that they had 600lb as well. i think that that was the highest they went at the time, which was late last year i think.
