So I know everybody on the board is ridiculously jealous that the Brown Santa (aka our UPS driver) visits us every day with cool stuff. Well my friends, today was no exception. We picked up a handful of the new Dainese Next Wave V jackets, and I think these pretty much take the cake in terms of fit, protection, mobility, and comfort.

The jacket has the Next spine protector, but also has the aluminum honeycomb in the bicep and pectoral pads. The shoulder pads articulate flawlessly when you're bringing your arms up. The mesh jacket itself is totally open, and there are big holes over the armpit and inside elbow to keep irritation to a minimum. The spine protector is totally removable.

And it's black.

Dude, that looks like a serious improvement. Looks like they moved the spine protector down some. Mine used to hit my helmet every once in a while.

The new safety jacket racecuts (as well as shuttle racecuts) have the open pits, open inside of the arm, open thighs (on shuttle) etc.
Unfortunately I just got my Safety Jacket new (but older model) this year. So I've got a little while of sewing and riding left in her.

Get an under armour sleeveless shirt to wear under neath it, or else your nips will be chaffed beyond belief.

Second that one, you can also use a defeet undershirt or something like that if you want a cheaper option.

Has dainese improved the durability of the mesh and zippers? My 3yo safety jacket performs great but is way too fragile IMO.

Yeah, everybody in the Southeast wished my old Dianese suit had open armpits. That thing could walk. :dead:
your new armor isn't winning over anybody either... :dead:

So does anybody have an up close detail shot of the 05 Safety Jackets? Dainese's website is annoying.

I laughed and went back to flipping channels. I guess you had to be there.

Technically he's right, I think everybody in the entire world who is not an American calls it Football. Don't know where we got mixed up on that whole thing.

Anyway, images of the stuff are on our webpage now for future reference (once this thread dies).

No, in fact I played Junior level here (same as junior AAA hockey).

I run a 4.29 sec 40, playing wide receiver and kick returner.

You can't hit what you can't catch.
