Just a friday thought. So, recently I lucked out and got hired on by a company that I've been wanting to work for since college. The cool part- in our office alone, there are about 5 of us.

To top it off, we are one of the major sponsors for the Fat Tire Classic in Winter Park, Co later this month, and this is the 5th year in a row of sponsorship.

so? what's your count?

My boss rides with me. The CEO is planning to ride with us some. New sport to him.

In an office of about 50, there are lunch group rides and afterwork rides that include about 10 people besides me! Not bad odds. My office even has a team competing in the Seattle to Portland ride every summer!

My supervisor rides easy XC trails, but thats really about it. The owner of the company is a rich mofo and he bought himself one of the BMW (Bavarian Motor, not Brooklyn Machine) bikes and broke it off of a 2' drop. I think he replced the frame with a Blur, but I doubt I'd ever ride with him. The other dudes that rode all quit.

In my building of 400 employees, I know of two other cyclists, one of whom I have never met. Our company has 9,000+ employees total and I am sure there is a cyclist of two in there somewhere.

We have over 300 employees, but I only know about half of them. Among these, I know of one "sometimes" roadie (mostly just does the MS150), and a few comfort bikers. There is a guy who used to ride mtb "B4 kids", but that's about it.

2 other real mountain bikers and one old roadie, but there are a large number of bicycle commuters in our company of 35.

There are about 5 other bikers in my company of 135. One is a hard core roady, the others are a mix. I go ride road and trail with 2 of them. I would think there would be more seeing how I live in Denver. But, that's okay. That's more trail for me. :D

I miss those days... Used to work one place where we had 4 (of 16) people that rode at lunch 3+ times a week. Then we also had after work rides the other days!

Then I worked at a place with over 1000 people- there were several groups. You could join in on the morning ride, lunch ride, or afterwork ride.

Now... office of 9 people, and I'm the only one.

My own boss is a super-serious roadie - but only for fitness/excercise (not competitive). No one else (office/branch of under 10, parent company is 40-strong - very few riders, none serious)

I'm a n00B about to get my first bike - something suitable for paved trails, and beginner off-road trails (I've been told a relatively basic front suspension shoud do the trick). He's already been joking about never letting me ride with him (I wouldn't want to or be able to either - he cruises at over 25mph most of the time!)

... off to the Beginners forums for tips on picking a bike :)

Out of 35 engineers, Myself and a former New York State Pro Mtber is all.
He helped me pick out my bikes and convinced me to try racing and now I'm hooked.

My workplace has about 75 people and as far as I know I'm the only one who rides. One guy once told me he rides, but I'm not sure if he was just bull****ting me because he thought it was cool or what. I ride to work every day I can and ride right through the store (I work at a home-dept-esque home center in the greater Rochester area). My bosses are always happy to see me ride in and over all everyone seems to be impressed. I get a chuckle out of it.

At least 10 or more here in the immediate building. Some serious, some not. I've ridden w/ the VP before, we borrowed a bunch of demo bikes from a local shop for a comany sales meeting/BBQ. Fun stuff.

We are owned by a parent company, I have no idea how many people ride there.

A big goose egg. One guy has a mt. bike but hasn't ridden for years, i try to get him out but the more i work with the guy the less i think i wanna ride with him haha.
A good riding pal is a concrete finisher and we run into each other from time to time on jobs.

In my hotel of about 200 employees I would hazard there are at least 30 of us that ride. 7 pure xc/road, probably 18 that do both and 5 that only dh. In that 30 I can think of 5 girls. Ask me in November and there will be 5 bikers and 30 skiers/boarders. The only thing that stays the same here are the east indian housekeepers. The only competetive riders are the xc guys. Everyone else is pretty chill.
