I somehow managed to strip the threads on my crank arms on my raceface ride xc cranks. I have looked around but havent found anyplace that sells replacement arms so i am looking for a cheap (<$150) crankset as a replacement. Am i going be be able to buy anything for this price range that will take somewhat of a beating. I dont DH or take huge drops but the occational 8-10 footer to transition does happen.

Truvative Hussefelts. They are a solid buy. They are strong, can take a beating, and are 3-ring capable. You can usually find them in the BS forum for like $50-75.

And if you ever strip out the SS pedal insert, Truvative will warranty them.

Uh shameless plug, but I have a sweet RF Turbine set in excellent shape for sale well under the price that you are looking to buy....that has all the goods including bashgaurd and bb...

Otherwise you can get some pretty cheap Truvativ or Shimano Hones for about that much.

Just make sure they have a pedal insert. Otherwise any crank should be solid.

Ive only had one problem with one set of cranks, and that was a pair of race face DH cranks, they are a little bent after 4 years of hard riding and landing with my right foot forward.

im rockin some rf evolve dh and they are awsome pedals. they have withstood hard ridin every weekend in any kind of weather. theve been threw the worst nc ridin that there is so deffinatly an option. and they are 2 ring compatable and come with a basheguard big plus when you encounter rocks and trees.

truvativ makes them pretty cheap these days, look into em and ask around, thats what you have to do so that you get what you need and not what any of these guys need so they can see it on the Buy sell forum 2 weeks after you buy it

Where did you hear this? I am only questioning it becuase if it is truw then they will be my next cranks. Sorry for not having any faith but do you have any proof (such as a website) that says they will do this?

I found mine lightly used for $50; the only problem I've had is because the bike shop didn't install the washers and my crank started to come loose before I even had a chance to go for a ride on them. They're solid and feel great.

husselfelts-a lot of people say they suck but mine have taken a beating and are still in perfect condition, now I'm selling them with the steel inserts, but if anything does go wrong Truvativ has great customer service, i'd like to get $50 for mine w/ steel inserts, pm me if your interested, I'm not just saying their good because I'm selling mine though, buy new ones if you want, good luck
