Does anyone have any pics of the E13 DRS on a Big Hit? How far from the chainstay is it? Did you use the ISCG mounts?

I used an old one mounted sandwich-style (prior to the ICGS adapter plates, back when the hole in the guideplate itself was sandwich-able), no ICGS tab use, with an e-type mounted through the guideplate and into the boss on the frame. Don't recall any issues with the chainstay, but I did have to do some spacing of the BB and guide plate to get it all aligned properly, and to ensure that the derailleur cage and guide plate didn't rub when in the larger chainring.

Here's a pic of mine. I did have to do a little filing on some holes of the mounting plate to get the derailluer to work properly.

Sorry no detailed pics, but it's an easy job. I mounted to the ISCG mounts and used a washer stack to space it out. What you want to achieve is the inside edge/surface of the outboard guide plate needs to closely match the inside surface of your bash ring. Shim till you get those two surfaces as close to the same plane as possible. I won't be on RM again till monday but if you use my RM e-mail link, send me your e-mail add and I can get you some detail pics back with my phone before then.

i mounted an srs to a bighit dh once, cant remember any details which in all likelyhood means it didnt require any special work to get it working right, that time i remember i used xt octalink cranks, do as evilbob says, start with a couple of washers and the long bolts, tighten it all down and then see how flush the alignment ridge is with the outer surface of the bashguard.
you probably know the correct orientation of the boomerang is with the upper bolts close to 12 o clock, which probably means with the lower boomerang very close to the chainstay. that should get you a good setup.

I was wondering if I use the ISCG mounts. I was told by the LBS that E-13 says your not suppose to.

With mine, you couldn't use the ICGS mounts b/c they didn't orient the guide properly to set up the e-type derailleur, as I recall.

i'm a MAsshole!!!
i'm planning on getting a SRS, and have an 04 bighit expert, anybody got any commens on the fit of it? are the dimensions the same as the drs?
on the e13 site, it says that it's ok in the lower travel setting but i run mine in the long travel setting so i need to know that it's good in that setting. also it's a L frame if that changes anything. and it will be in raceface diablous cranks and bb if that matters as well.thanks.

...and i remembered to "use the search function"!
