I have no experience with the F1, however the Turner DHR is just about the sweetest dh bike I've ever ridden (I ride one now). It is truly an amazing bike, and I only hear good things about Turner cs.

Ask yourself this: do you want a rearward or forward arcing wheelpath? The Canfield will have a rear arcing one which will hold its momentum way better through rock gardens, whereas the DHR will be getting hung up on every large rock because the pivot is low and the rear wheel will move inward on big hits. The DHR however will out-corner the Canfield most likely because the wheelbase shrinks dramatically when you dive into a corner and the front and back end compress. As for the forks: racing or general DH'ing? If you plan on riding a lot on your own and doing a lot of hucking and not as much racing, go for the 888. For serious racing, probably the fox, although the 888 should do fine.

couldn't have put it better.
it all comes down to what your riding style is like.

People race just fine with well tuned 888s. Look at Cedric and Fabian Barel (just a couple examples). I personally would want a fork that would ramp up a little bit at the end of the stroke and it seems people are having a hell of a time getting that feeling with the Fox whereas it's characteristic of almost all Marzocchi's. Save your money there. Either frame is durable enough to be used as a weekend warrior, but I would say the Canfield is a slightly less race-oriented bike and something you could thrash the hell out of a little easier than a DHR. What kind of trails are you riding in Colorado? Like I said before - for rocks: Canfield...for fast tight turns: Turner. To me they seem like kind of opposite ends of the spectrum just because of the suspension characterstics.

yea.. go with which ever fork suites your stlye. the 888 with a ti spring and some other mods comes up to quite a light fork.

I'm in the same exact boat trying to pick frame/fork, same options too...wierd....

I'm going for the canfield with an 888. I like the suspension design better, they look burlier (and steel for '06 i e-heard :dancing: ), plus they look great.

The 40 is tempting, but i've always liked the feel of marzocchi, and i beat the piss out of my stuff. I don't race, just ride real fast and freeride, so I think it's better off for me.

I'm still in love with the DHR though, one of my dream bikes. Someday...

kanter there on the inside maybee they know something that we dont know.

lol but im pretty sure they dont. the works edition doesnt even come with ti springs. just tuned to fit your weight and your riding style a little bit better. me personally i would get the dhr with the 888 works. you get the race tuned suspension that fits you perfectly. great cs with marzocchi as well. and you also have big named guys that ride them and swear by the forks. also the dhr is just an awsome bike all around. you get a big name company that is backing you and a lot of guys are on them and swear by them. bizutch and jeremy r just to name a few. they have the dhr and 888 works setup and they seem to love it and keep having good results with them, but also the dhr and 888 is more of a race tuned setup than the canifield is. but hey its up to you in the end not up to a bunch of nuckleheads who think that they know everything. :thumb: so i wish you good luck and either decision you make will be a good one.

I had the same dilemma...which bike and fork to choose when I decided it's time to go with a more DH orientated frame to replace my '04 Foes Fly(complete bike is for sale :D ). Not to say the Fly isn't great and the 888 is awesome.

Just go with the bike that is going to fit you and your style of riding.

I just received my DHR and DH40 RC2.
