Do not thank me, thank April and Maxine Irving who have been keeping me in the loop-more news;
He is doing really good, and recovering well from surgery. The doctors took a bone graft from his hip and fused 2 vertebra together and then placed 2 rods in his neck. He is really tired and just thankful that he has all movement.

Lordy, Lordy...

Wow, that really is good news...

You never really know for sure sometimes until after the surgery is over.

We're thankful that Sven has movement as well. :thumb:

Rest up, and heal well - and Anka, you can now officially take a nap... :D

Great News! Sven was released from the hospital yesterday. He’ll be heading back home to Bend later today.

That's really great news! That's amazing that he was released from the hospital less than a week after his injury.

I'm sure he will feel a lot better being at home; the hospital is the worst place to be...

Great news! That guy is tough as nails. I'm wishing them a comfortable ride home (as comfortable as it can be).

I just talked to Sven and he sounds pretty damn good all things considered. He said he's going to try to get online soon and find this thread, so I figured I'd post to bump it to the top for him.

Hi There all.
Thanks for everyones support it has been overwealming seeing this and receiving all the emails and phone calls of support. Im home recovering. Its been tough but each day is better than the day before. I was extremely lucky and im thankfull it wasnt any worse. Just an unlucky landing on a slow clumsy over the bars. Ill be good to go again in 3 months time. So till then keep shredding.

Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is a gift!

Great attitude to have!!! Thats where the healing truly begins. :thumb:

It also makes you realize and notice the blessings of all the little things in life we take for granted.

Heal well!! Anything I can do, all you need do is ask. :thumb:

Hey Sven,

Glad to hear you're ok, Man. Word travels fast, you've obviously inspired a lot of people. Not sure of relative comparisons of injuries, but Wentz was racing again in what, 6 months? Hate to hear this happen to such a good guy... Get better soon.

that is NOT cool. And you thought the crash was gay...LOL!
Damn dude. Damn.

LOL  ... that must be a Canadian thang :p Nobody was getting near my :nope: a$$ :nope: when I (nearly) snapped my neck up in Big Bear.

Anyway, it's great news about Sven. My heart dropped when I first saw this thread.... I really hate hearing about riders getting jacked up from injuries.
