I'm after a full face helmet, but this time something different, as I've had a few 661, bell etc, and fancy something different.

Has anyone had experience with brands other than 661, Bell, Giro, Azonic?
Being hot headed, I'm not considering MX helmets, as I need cooling.

I cant really pay big bucks, so TLD and Dainese are out.

Thanks

look at the "06 TLD helmets" thread further down the page. There are mostly MX helmets, but a few of the new D2s are in there as well.

The giro madmax is the way to go. Its the coolest looking and gives you alot of protection and comfort.

+1,, i love mine,, fits well not too hot. maybe check out the new specialized lids coming out.. i heard there was one to be in the $150 range.. but for that you can get to giro mmx2;s hell maybe three depending on what their crash replacement policy is.

In a healthy tension
Specialized has a new fullface out for 2006 but it is designed primarily for light freeride. Tons of vents, way more than the conventional helmet and looks decent too. The carbon deviant is bank though so check out the poly. H

Like a few people have said, specialized seems the way to go. Besides having tons of cooling vents its only $130 bucks and looks better than any other helmet in that price range. Anyone have any idea when they will be available?
Heres a picture

Tons of cooling vents scare me. It gives an ever so slightly higher chance that a stick or sharp rock can find it's way to your dome.
