Whoa, what a trip. 3 weeks in a Perrywinkle Prius traveling across the majority of the Western U.S. From San Diego to Tahoe to Sandpoint to Aspen.

All pics taken by Wes "MerrrrJig" Pracht (MTBphoto.com)

The Tahoe race was awesome, challenging course as always and good peeps. Here I get ready to drop into the final section of the course.

Sanjay does the same:

Brian(Aka: Duude, bro, Mophead, IntenseDHrider) rails one of the turns towards the bottom of the trail.

Northstar has some of the most challenging terrain in the US. And this year's Expert/pro course was no exception, Mr Zamoura drops it like it's hot:

Big D Showing everyone that it can be done on a single crown:

After the race..Well, it's safe to say that my condo was THRASHED. There were at least 20 people in there..Yikes. Here is a pic that is already famous:

After Tahoe I jumped into what might be the smallest car ever made and headed to the Idaho NCS with my good friend Sanjay and Wes (Merrrrjig). Here's a pic of Sanjay jumping in Spokane. I'd like to say that I made it through the pack on my DH bike, too bad the photographer is lazy :stosh:

After Driving for a REAL LONG TIME we finally got to Idaho. We met up with the foreigners (Andre and Hugo) and promptly hit up the Wal-Mart in Sandpoint for Paintball guns and airsoft guns.

Sanjay does this wallride off the main lodge while Andre 2000 shoots:

Big Baby G (Aka G-unit, Garrick Anderson) Does his Bumblebee noise as he speeds down the course at Schweitzer:

Bumblebee Man #2 G to the Z (Sean McClendon) Drops Alter Boy like it's hot(His own words)

Yours truely Trying to win practice:

Mr Jake(TacobellDHer) Trying to take the Aussie Kid out. Damn, Jake is fast watch out for him in the coming years:

G to the Z "Gettin some" and taking home 8th place in the PRO MTX at Schweitzer:

Kyle was riding extremely well at Schweitzer, he took 1st in JRX DH to qualify for the worlds. Doing runs with him, Garrick, Sanjay and G to the Z makes me feel slow, Just kidding.

Cody, Cody. Damn he's gotten fast. Doing the XC course with him and Garrick on Thursday made me feel slow. I can't even keep him within 20 seconds on the DH course though, I need to go faster!!! Cody got 5th in the DH.

Hate, Hate, Hate. Mickey Flyin down the course on his Yeti.

Andre 2000(Aka: BrazilianDownhiller, FEZ, Brazilianere, bumblebeeman #3) doing it for the Brazilian honeys... Huckin the ladder:

Sanjay Rippin down the course:

The Experts got to race in the sloppy rain, Ryan Anderson (Aka: GArrick, Bumblebee boy) rips the final corner on the slippery course:

Sanjay, doing what he does best: Eating Top Ramen.

"Sketchy Tommy" slammin into Kyle at the PRO finals of MTX. He took 3 spokes outta them Bombshell wheels:

SuperFan: "Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaahh, GET SOME...DH, DH"

Yeah, that's me. During my race run, braaaap:

T Sage going for top 10 in Pro....Women's

Sanjay too fast for the camera, Rockin' my helmet Bullithead style for more aerodynamics (Or to mock the people in skinsuits)

Semi-Pro podium. Some guy from SLC won, I forgot his name. Ryan Condrashoft NorCal Represizzentin' in 2nd and me in 3d.

After the race, Well..you know....we went swimming and drank sodas. Sanjay, KRAM, and G-unit:

T Sage a little worse for wear, I was gonna bust out my lifeguard skills then remembered that he is a lifeguard himself...

After Sleeping in the Wal-Mart parking lot with the 2-6 Stallions we headed out to Aspen for the next round of racing. We stopped a couple of times to check out the scenery.

Yellowstone had all kinds of wild animals, here is one posing in front of the "Unlawful to leave walkway" sign:

"Moooooo"

I drove from Sandpoint to Deer Valley non-stop, it was quite brutal. Not to Fear though, I had my loyal co-pilot(Merrjig) to keep me awake, kinda. Sanjay and Andre 2000 split the drive in vehicle #2.

Aspen (Snowmass) was really, really dusty and loose. I swear I could not see the course because of all the dust. I could definately feel the hits my bike was taking on the fast rough course...

Hugo "the crazy Spaniard" rippin it up on his Hucktastic NORCO. This guy is accustomed to riding nicely groomed, European World's courses...When asked what he though of the NORBA courses he said something to the effect of "Booty" Nonetheless he had a blast traveling and riding with us...

Hacking out a lung on the "Hells kitchen" section of the snowmass DH course:

SanjAY:

Bryan joined us at Snowmass and took 4th place in the JRX men 16 and under division...hitting/bunnyhopping every rock on the course:

The XC got rained out:

Sanj again, he qualified 8th in PRO but a race-run tango with a tree dropped him back into the 30's.

Crazy Spaniard="Yeeeeeehaaaaa, Yeeeeeeeehaaaa"

My Semi-Pro results for the month:
Tahoe: 3d
Idaho: 3d
Snowmass: 1st

Sanjay's PRO results for the month:
Tahoe: DNS
Idaho: 23d
Snowmass: 30 something

Crazy Month, See you all in Brian Head.

I was in Rockville when you guys pulled in, but we were rolling the next morning early...still on the road to the East Coast. Figured you guys wouldn't be awake until noon or so and wouldn't appreciate being woken up beforehand. (Or in Sanjay's case, simply be capable of waking up).

Did you guys ride in Utah at all? Derek/Darryl and I got one ride in on Gooseberry.

Anyhow, nice shots...makes me wish I was still bumming around this summer instead of heading off to work. Congrats on all your race successes.

I got it, wore it 3-4 times, cut off my dreads and it no longer fits me. I had to wear a towel under my helmet to make it fit slightly correctly.

You know TLD has different pad thicknesses, it might help if you don't want to hassle with a towel.

Besides, it's not polically correct to wear a towel on your head nowadays.

Sick guys - I just got back from N* a few hours ago, and I can testify that that place is gnarly and badass. The mountain just eats bikes though - I almost wrecked a shifter on Boondocks, had to have the cable replaced. Sadly, I didn't have a chance to race, but I finally saw a Karpiel Apocalypse - someone was racing a red one last sunday.

My favorite trails:

Haügs
Middle Karpiel (above Speed Control)
Boondocks
3 Amigos

Were they racing Clydesdale?

nah - it was some dude that had it set up with one shock, so it was essentially an armageddon with the extra shock mount. The guy had a big-ass cowbell attached to the seat so you could hear him coming from a mile away
