Hey, I live down in National City, and the best riding close to us would be either Ted Williams or Noble Canyon. Noble Canyon is out east, down the 8, it'll take you about 30 min to get there. Ted Williams is off of the 15 in poway. PM if ya want direction's. Also there is Anderson's Truck Trail, but I've never ridden there, although I've heard there's some pretty good riding there. All three of these places would probably be the best for any kind of DH or Freeriding in the SD area.

At a computer...duh
The only suggestion I can make is not to tell anyone you care about to stay in the "El Cajon Lodge"...place is complete with bullet holes in the drapes and and air conditioner that is ready to fall off the wall. They also make you sign a bunch of waivers for your car if you park it there and your safety and personal belongings in the room...

Martha's Grove between Santee and Poway is a fun place for XCish rides, Mission Trails has a lot of hills to go up, there are some trails off of the 67 and scrips poway pkwy. If you want more downhillish options shuttling noble is one of the better rides, also Anderson, although it's only fun for a handfull of people who like the conditions anderson has to offer, Lake Morena should be approaching rideable temperatures in the next couple of weeks... I don't know of anything right in El Cajon though. Supposedly there's a trail that runs from somewhere near Los Coches rd to Harbison canyon.

Actually, the trail starts in Crest, and ends in Harbison Canyon. I know the guy that built it, but I haven't ridden it with him yet, so I wouldn't know how to get there. He said it's a pretty cool trail, and it's about 10 miles long.
