I was riding my friends bmx bike yesterday and i fell inlove with it. So i think i am going to buy a bike to get into the sport with. I was lookin at the Easern ShovelHead as my first bike, and i will mainly be dirtjumping with it. Does any one have any advice on what i should get or reviews on the bike.

s&m is way too expensive for a first bike
go with a hoffman or dk complete off danscomp.com

my friends got a dk 6pack and for 300 its a great complete that will last you a long time.

I think the only thing wrong with the shovel head is the TT length. That's all preference though. If I remember right they have like a 19.7" top tube. I could be wrong though.

EDIT

There's nothing wrong with the shovelhead, in fact it'd be a great first bike! I was thinking of the Ace of Spades.

Get the shovel head.

I think the bike comes with a giro, what is evrey ones oppinions on giros i dont really plan on doing any bar spins or any crazy stuff like that, so i was gonna just take that off and put a long cable on there. Becuase i have heard that they dont stop well.

seems like every one is running long cables these days anyways. just get an odyssey linear cable. They work great!
