I have a non-apple one and have not had an issue with it. I have the standard Apple one at home, but the one I travel with is an EPS A/C adapter.

It doesn't have the cool light on the end, but it works.

My new one has been going strong for 4 months?
That's not really something to brag about is it? How long did the one before that last? I've never heard of these issues but if 4 months is a big accomplishment that sounds pretty lame to me.

edit: is apple replacing these for people?

Mines been working fine for 2.5 years - but why not try an aftermarket adapter? Cheaper and probably more reliable.

I've had my Pbook for around 5 mos. with not many problems. Only problem is the adaper in the notebook is a little loose from where the cable got pulled the wrong way, but it still works fine.

Guess thats why they came out with the new magnetic one for the MacBooks

I haven't had any issues, but everyone in my major has them and I have heard of several complaints. But I mean I'm on like 6 months and no issues, my roommy blew his up in about 4 months and he uses his far less then me because he has 2 computers, this is my only comp (unfortunately). Very inconsistent performance.

Go with a kensington universal adaptor. I got one on ebay for real cheap and its been working for about a year now with my PC laptop no problem. Its almost the exact same thing as the I-Go Juice, but alot cheaper and slightly less common.

My brother has gone through a ton of adaptors on his PB G4 and the I-Go Juice is the only one that has lasted.

The new core duo based Macbooks look like they have much improved power adaptors. Most notably the magnetic plug.
