Hey all,
So the BFA is having a fundraiser to raise money for trail maintenance at Falls City / Blackrock Mountain Bike Park. The fundraiser is THIS WEDNESDAY AT 6:00 PM. Details on location and such are linked below. The event is free of charge, but is first come, first served. However, there is a raffle and tickets are $25/piece. You might think that is expensive, but consider at all the loot (below) and that EVERY PENNY of that money goes to buying nails, pressure treated wood, tools, 501(c) licensing fees, etc, etc, etc. THIS EVENT IS NOT TO BE MISSED!!!

Directions, info and such

The loot:

The promoters should make an effort to have raffle tickets available for purchase at the event. The last I heard, that was not the case.:nope:

Raffle tickets WILL BE FOR SALE AT THE EVENT. There was some confusion early on because it is likely that the event will "sell out", even though you don't have to pay anything to enter. There is a maximum capacity, and we have to stick to it. The concern was that people would wait until time of entry to buy tickets, only to find the event "sold out" and an inability to grab tix. As such, people were encouraged to grab tix ahead of time. That way they still got to contribute to the trail fund and get in on the raffle, even if they weren't able to make it to the event (either for personal reasons, or if the place fills up).

Long story short, there will be raffle tickets for sale at the event. Sorry for any confusion early on.:thumb:

AWESOME!
I'll try to buy four tickets and don't even care about winning anything, well except maybe a Santiam or Blackrock t-shirt.
I'll leave work early and head down with my van.
Anyone else need a ride down from Portland?

Is that you? Correct me if I'm wrong, but haven't you been making enough trips to Falls City lately to justify renting a room there? :-)

I rode there last Saturday, and prior to that was about five months earlier. I've been there five times total.

I heard the event was great you guys! It's awesome what you're doing for your local riding area. I was lucky enough to ride the following day with some of the boys from Santiam (Thanks Tom, Ben, and Chris!) and I can honestly say I've rarely had a better time exploring a new area than I did in Fall City. So much fun, I have to come back soon and ride again!
