There are a so many good reviews online for this camera, and I've got a killer deal lined up, but I haven't found any info on the camera's handling of high speed objects (e.g. 40 mph downhill bike).

There was one review on CNET by someone named Toshi, but it didn't mention cycling photography. I was hoping it was RMs Toshi, and that he could shed some light.

Anyone have good experience with this camera for capturing images of fast moving objects, such as meteors, crackheads looking for a fix, or your wife heading to the 50% sale at Target?

Well, no, I didn't find a better deal than that. I am leaving for New Zealand on Sunday, and finally decided to bite the bullet and get a better camera. As such, I'm in the unfortunate position of having local prices. A rebate hunter in town that sells cameras at market value for profit is selling it for $300, and I think I can get him for $275.

Considering that I'm leaving on Sunday, I think $275 wouldn't be too bad of a deal. Besides, the guy is a PhD student living on a stipend, so I don't feel too bad about helping him a bit (having come off of a stipend last June).

Thanks for the link though; should give me a little leverage.

nope, wasn't me, sorry. cameras i've owned:

Canon S30 - no complaints for what it was
Canon D30 - early 3 megapix dSLR, poor low light AF (still worlds better than point and shoots!)
Canon 20D - current rig. works fine: www.toshiclark.com

I just got a FinePix F10.....I haven't taken any riding shots yet, but I've snapped a few pics of my dog running around the yard and jumping to grab branches of trees everything so far has come out great.

Sounds like you can use the rebate and save $50 no matter where you buy the camera

Damn a d30 that's old school. I went from a Kodak DCS520 to the D30, that thing was the sh!t back in the day, and back in the day in digital was like three years ago.

awesome. i considered buying a used kodak DCS560, or what was it, the Canon D2000? D6000? ah, back in the day :thumb:
