1. no, comp 16's are different compounds than comp 24's, hence the name, comp 16 and comp 24.

2. Stock 40 springs are too soft for my team mate that weighs 100lbs tops.

The mud tires are a harder compound than the rest of the Michelin DH tires. This keeps the longer knobs from ripping off. They flex just enough to grip on wet roots and rocks, but the compound is harder.

The 40 stock spring is supposed to be for an average rider weighing around 180 or so.

Edit: 40 springs.. im prolly ~120 and im running the soft spring (step below stock). its just a bit on the firm side. still rides like a dream.

Thank You that is exactly the info that i was looking for!

Mich is very vague about the rubber they use and have the same description for tires that I know do not use the same compound (16's 24's mud 3's old dh24 lite's all same description) so I was not sure.

I am also right on the border of the fox recomended weights and was wondering if there recomendations were on or not., There are lots of comlaints (seemingly uneducated) about the ti spring being too soft for anyone over 100lbs)

No one here is forced to answer any of these threads. If you do not know the answer to someones problem you are not obligated to just 'make up' something and post it.

"Ryan" may know his 'sht' about something, but Michelin Tires is not his forte.

Edit: apparently, neither is Fox.
